CREIT Acquires Two Retail Power Centres
The Canadian Real Estate Investment Trust has recently announced it has gone into agreements to acquire two retail power centres in Mississauga, Ontario. The centres, Winston Churchill Power Centre and Erin Mills Power Centre, are expected to close in June, 2011. Click here to learn more about the acquisitions.
The Race to Reduce Program takes off in Toronto
CivicAction’s Greening Greater Toronto program recently launched the Race to Reduce, a plan aimed at uniting office landlords and tenants to reduce their energy use and carbon footprint. The program’s goal is to reduce each building’s energy consumption by 10 per cent. It will run for the next four years. To find out more about the Race to Reduce program, click here.
Maritime City is an “Energy Efficiency Champion”
The City of Saint John has been awarded a Premier’s Award for its excellence in energy efficiency. The Premier’s Awards are currently in their third year, with each of the recipients being chosen by New Brunswick Premier David Alward. The 2011 awards ceremony was held in Fredericton.
