Fairmont Hotels Expands into Chengdu, China
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has announced a new luxury hotel in the capital of China’s Sichuan province, Chengdu. The new hotel will be situated within the Palm Springs International Centre in Tianfu New Town, which is an area known for its financial services and emerging high technology and software business parks. Winnipeg Opens LEED Airport Terminal
The James Armstrong Richardson International Airport in Winnipeg recently received a green upgrade. The airport is the site of the first LEED terminal in Canada. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects (PCPA) the new terminal is 25 per cent more efficient than Canada’s Model National Energy Code for Buildings.

October Commercial Figures
The Toronto Real Estate Board Commercial Division Members (TREB) recently released the commercial figures for October 2011. The total square feet of leased space for the month was down a third compared with October of 2010. For more information on the October commercial figures, click here.
Allied Properties Expands Across Canada
Allied Properties has further expanded its portfolio into Calgary and Ottawa. The company has acquired properties at 209-8th Avenue S.W. and 11th Avenue S.W. in Calgary and one property in Ottawa, half a block south from the Parliament Buildings. The addition of these properties brings Allied up to a total of 23 acquisitions in 2011, amounting to a total of $461 million. To find out more about Allied's expansion, click here.
